Complete Semi-Down Booth and Heating System
The Merchant 1 Manufacturing PBSD14927-H Semi-Down Draft Paint Booth with Heat combines a professional paint booth with a Bananza B1000 heated air makeup unit. It is designed for automotive refinishing and other suitable coating applications where controlled airflow and heated makeup air are important considerations.
The semi-down configuration draws intake air through the upper front section of the booth and moves air horizontally toward the rear exhaust system. This design differs from a traditional crossflow booth, which typically draws intake air through filters in the front doors.
The booth is constructed from 18-gauge G-90 galvanized steel and includes ten 2' × 4' LED fixtures with glass, a 30-inch tube axial exhaust fan, a 3 HP three-phase motor, 20" × 20" intake and exhaust filter pads, and essential installation accessories.
The included Bananza B1000 air makeup unit is specified at 11,000 CFM with a 7.5 HP motor and natural gas heating rated at 1,307,000 BTU per hour (1,307 MBH). The air makeup unit is intended to supply replacement air as part of the overall ventilation system. Final system performance depends on the complete installation, ductwork, controls, and site conditions.

Customer Responsibilities & Installation
- Unloading: The customer is responsible for offloading the delivery truck and arranging appropriate unloading equipment.
- Construction and installation: The customer is responsible for booth construction and installation, including electrical work and the installation of the air makeup unit and associated ductwork.
- Electrical and gas connections: Electrical work must be performed by a licensed electrician familiar with applicable codes. Natural gas piping, connections, and heater installation must be completed by qualified professionals in accordance with manufacturer instructions and applicable fuel-gas codes.
- System planning: Confirm electrical supply, natural gas availability, ventilation requirements, ductwork, controls, and compatibility of the booth and air makeup unit before installation.
- Permits and fire suppression: The customer is responsible for determining and obtaining required local permits and arranging fire suppression where required by applicable codes and the local authority having jurisdiction.
