The Merchant 1 Manufacturing PBSD13823FT Semi-Down Paint Booth is an entry-level automotive paint booth designed to provide a practical, economical option for shops refinishing common passenger vehicles and performing a variety of coating applications.
This model features a box-style exhaust plenum and a 20-foot interior length. Its enclosure is constructed from 18-gauge G-90 galvanized steel and includes six 2' × 4' LED fixtures with glass, a separate man door with a window, intake and exhaust filter pads, and a 24-inch tube axial exhaust fan paired with a 3 HP, three-phase motor.
The booth can also be configured with optional upgrades to better match your facility and workflow. Choose from a horseshoe/bridge exhaust configuration, drive-through doors, alternate motor options, and upgraded control panels. An air makeup unit (AMU) intake box can also be incorporated into a suitable configuration to support a future or planned heated air makeup system.

- Unloading: The customer is responsible for offloading the delivery truck. A forklift is required to unload the crate; a forklift with 60" fork length is recommended.
- Construction and installation: The customer is responsible for booth construction and installation, including electrical work. Installation instructions are provided, and our in-house design team is available to answer installation questions.
- Electrical installation: All electrical work for the paint booth and any associated air makeup unit (AMU) must be performed by a licensed electrician familiar with applicable national, state, and local electrical codes.
- Permits and fire suppression: The customer is responsible for determining and obtaining required local permits and arranging fire suppression where required by applicable codes and the local authority having jurisdiction.
Safety, codes, and installation: Paint booth installations must be evaluated for the intended coating materials, ventilation and airflow requirements, electrical configuration, fire protection, and applicable local codes. OSHA and NFPA 33 requirements may apply depending on the application and installation. Confirm the complete system design and installation with qualified professionals and the local authority having jurisdiction.
